Mateel Community Center Presents Summer Arts and Music Festival Online Video Tribute
Mateel Community Center YouTube channel features two one-hour programs
The Mateel Community Center is happy to announce a video release of our Summer Arts and Music Festivals from past years. The videos are now live on the Mateel Community Center YouTube channel: youtube.com/c/mateelcc. The video tributes feature over two dozen artists in two one-hour segments.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown and shelter- in-place we were unable to have our beloved community event this year. The 44th annual event was previously scheduled to take place at Benbow State Recreation Area in Garberville, Saturday June 6th and Sunday June 7th, 2020.
It saddens us all because this is where we gather to celebrate our friendship, our love, our diversity and our community. Please join us on this journey through the past. Created from footage of our many gatherings over the years at Benbow State Park.
We look forward to the time when we can celebrate together again and hug and love one another. If you’re not already a member please support us and become one, or if you would like to give a donation, we would be very honored to receive it, please visit our website at mateel.org. Thank you for being a part of our community. Our deepest gratitude to the sponsors that contribute to Summer Arts and all events over the years. Special thanks to Pierson’s Building Center Vocality Community Credit Union & Root 101 Nursery for their generous support of the Summer Arts 2020 online video tribute.
Thank you Andrew Burnett for volunteering your time in making thishappen, and Mateel staffer Justine Ketola for your work to release the videos, we all appreciate it.
Watch for a new merchandise store here on the Mateel website featuring items from Summer Arts & Reggae on the River past festivals.
The Mateel will be open as soon as we can. Enjoy, be happy, be well, be loveand be the change we wish to see in the world.
Sincerely, Mateel Community Center Board of Directors & Staff
