To My Esteemed Community Members,

“The Mateel is What You Make It” is a quote from a former board member.  It always made a lot of sense to me and seems relevant to bring it up again.

The Mateel Community Center’s mission is to involve all segments of the community in the creative actualization of a cultural vision embracing diversity, vitality, justice and sustainability.  Their programs and events serve changing community needs, emphasizing the performing and visual arts.

The MCC is experiencing financial stress due to the cancelling of regular events because of the pandemic.  The Summer Arts Fair, a staple of income and a major fun time didn’t happen.   We could not use the hall for all the cultural events  usually offered the community.  However, the MCC is continuing to serve the community by providing food for the needy weekly and shelter in the recentfire emergency.   The delicious Drive By Meals have been the only source of income.

Please join me by becoming a member immediately to keep our center alive. Memberships are inexpensive and sustaining memberships are also very welcome.

I like the Sustaining Membership which allows me to donate a small amount every month.   Its pretty painless but adds up in a year.

I hope you will consider this request and act soon.

                                                                  Sincerely,    Siena Klein
