- Committee reports:
Building– the front rail was finished, the main next project is the post, siding is definitely an issue and needs to be done pronto. Floor needs to be redone, gutters-Armand or neighbor is going to do a bid. Shannon and a few others including Elena are working on an energy grant, which will help replace inefficient appliances and get us a battery back up system -solar would be our second step. -sonia asked how long the loan will take. -Gary vella is willing to help out with doing the floor.
Finance – because of this board and a huge thanks to Leo(Hot Milk Entertainment) we were able to put 254k, we were able to bring 40,000 in alcohol sales thanks to Summer. The Kitchen made us 14k thanks to Babbette and Christy. 4200 in membership, 16,000 in sponsorship(GreenOx, Clarkies, Redwoods Rural, Eureka Natural food, Humboldt Homegrown, Sohum health, Community first credit Union, 30,000 in rentals, 75k ROTR, 70k SAMF,
Membership(234) and Fundraising – Elena has been keeping the membership informed, it has been a little non existent, but there has been random tabling, we could use more membership and interaction from the member and community.
Youth– the board was approached by Petter Weissman to be the in-between Humboldt area foundation to help with his sons Cyrus Weissman memorial fund, Shannon is in talks with Laura to go get youth (high schoolers) to volunteer. We have offered up the use of the hall for the booster club school fundraisers.
Events and Talent – we did a neat puppet show that was a no cost event for kids and families. It was a good attendance. -420 was a success that was reimagined this last year, local bands, local djs, and a good amount of food. Steel Pulse was a good show that sold out. SAMF was amazing this year, a new home at the community park. July 11-12 (tentatively). Engage new members of the community, lots of new comers to the community.
Policy and Bylaw – we had a weekend set aside but it fell through.
Personnel – meets as needed, they meet among themselves, and determine if more action or board involvement.
Dining– brought in 14k this year, Babbette and christy are the main people in charge of dinning. Sho has been using the kitchen. Dinning keeps the kitchen in order and plans the menus for upcoming events. -we can’t always run our kitchen during events, so we are trying to rent the kitchen out during our events.
Alisha Bullet points for ROTR– over all it was successful, all community organizations we worked with were happy, not a huge up tick in turn out but a mostly positive reception from patrons. Bar and Merchandise did better this year. We got a grant from HLA. It may be a little different moving forward but hoping to keep it a viable community fundraiser.
