Announcements: 3 minutes each
- Welcome appointed board member Darren Nothstine
- Approve minutes: minutes 2.18.26 – everyone is in favor- Pleasure abstains- motion to pass minutes passes
Reports:
- Officially seat committee chairs- Hall and Ground- John Bruno-Dave Sundberg as proxy, E&T- Darren Nothstine, Membership-Theresa Campbell, PC- Josh Hardin, Dining- Babette chair and Dave Sundberg and board liaison , Policy & Bylaws- All BOD,
- Committee reports-
Building
- Accomplished this month- Grounds & Hall- post is in, weed whacking, painting and work was done in house- John would like to see a water line to the back 40, stand pipes need to be replaced with iron ones due to melting- holes in fence were fixed. Power line to back 40 as well
Finance
- Report from Amie- please see printout from Amie- we are barely floating by- ROTR money is coming in- Hall income is not going good, we are 80,000 in the red. We need to keep expenses low and stick to the budget. Need regular finance meetings to keep on track.
- We need more sponsorship for hall and events- call to everyone to reach out and find a sponsorship for one or both- contact Elena for hall and SAMF sponsorship information and reach out to Sydney for Reggae on the River sponsorship deck.
- 952 ROTR tickets sold- Camping 40% and Premium RV 90% sold out-
- Galming will go on sale soon (includes two VIP, parking, glamping tent) only 12 to offered at first if they sell out we will possibly add more
Membership & Fundraising-Theresa Campbell
- Tabling, more banners, she was given a contact list to reach out to will keep BOD updated on progress
Youth –
- Shannon and a group of people met at SFHS and spoke with almost all students about volunteering- sent out questionnaires that will be available to students who are interested. Looking to see an influx of students volunteering at upcoming events
Events and Talent – Elena Worley- Eryn Snodgrass (will need to be present for monthly meetings in the future) New SOP for E & T will be added to online BOD handbook, please read
- March 28th Soup-a-Palooza
- Need a little help for set up
- Prizes-
- April 12th Mateel Presents Rock N Reggae w/Anthony B & Blu Axis- expecting 200-250 people- can we get everyone to participate-
Policy and Bylaw
- Amendment to bylaw of the number of board members needs to be added to the bylaws
- Vote passed 2025
- Will go on election ballot Dec. 2026 – will be implemented in fall election of 2026

- New policy recommendation
- Food for paid employees at Mateel hall shows- Shanon makes a motion that if a paid employee is working for more than six hours at a Hall event, they would have a meal included with that. Theresa seconds- Lonny abstained- everyone else in favor motion passes

- Recommendation to make Babette chair and Dave Sundberg as board liaison

Old Business: 5 minutes each
*Cost benefit of having a solar system owned by a third-party review information from Shanon’s email : Teresa makes a motion that we do not move forward with a third-party solar panel install installation Pleasure seconds- every one is in favor- motion passes
*Updated board conduct to include sobriety at meetings clause. New signatures will be needed.
Standards of Conduct – All BOD will need to sign.

- Anthony B show Kitchen manager
- Damond’s proposal for board consideration-would like the MCC to be its fiscal sponsor until their 1022 is approved See email for full details- Pleasure makes a motion to accept Damon Edwards proposal for the Mateel Community Center to become the fiscal sponsor of SHYSA with a contract before the agreement is finalized Dave Sundberg seconds- everyone is in favor- motion passes
- Skyfish Golf Tournament May 17th is asking for a donation for a raffle prize- Pleasure makes a motion to give them 2 tickets to SAMF- Darren Seconds motion- motion passes
- Jamie Leader- tent- 16×20 tent – what does she want in trade?
Public Comments 3 minutes;
Jameson – likes the new meal plan for paid people
Would like to see alcohol sobriety in our staff, board, and coordinators at our events.
Babette- would like to see more local events happening
Elena- it takes a lot of time and energy to put on an event- we need to make sure that Elena is getting support and make sure the Mateel is getting full value for the rental in the future.
