Office and Staff updates: submitted by Elena The office was really busy the beginning of the year through August with the return of Reggae on the River. I fielded many many many phone calls and emails.

My time this past year has been spent keeping the office open. I do logistics for all the in

house events. From volunteer coordinating to running admissions and will call. I also am

the interface for the rentals and making sure everything is coordinated. I was also part of

the production team for Reggae and did Will Call. I also manage the hall maintenance

person and keep the building committee up to date on different projects that need

attention, like the front porch railing.

The rentals have slowed down considerably compared to 2023 rentals but there has still

been a lot of activity going on in the hall. There were community meetings, community

parties, memorials, Recycled Youth theater rehearsals, dance rehearsals and recently

the Bulldogs Youth Cheer Group rented the hall for weeks leading up to their competition

a couple of weeks ago.

We have had good show rentals from Help’s on the Way, who brought the David Nelson

band twice for 2 night shows each time and California Live who brought a couple of rap

shows.

The hall was also the location for this year’s Summer Arts & Music Festival.

We did some collaboration productions with Norcal Headbangers Ball, Sohum

Community Park’s Picnic in the Park, and with Help’s on the Way for Battle of the Bands.

Events & talent will give reports on the in house productions.

The Mateel needs programs to get funding. I hope to identify what the community needs

and help to implement programs with the board and staff and find the grants needed to

make any program happen.

  1. Committee presentation:

*All committees are open for the public to join.*

  • Membership and Fundraising-Julia & Elena. Elena and Josiah have been holding down the fort for membership and fundraising, Josiah has been doing the merchandise along with memberships.
  • Building- John: looking for the best deal on materials for repairing outside rails and steps.
  • Dining- Christy & Babbette: Dining has cooked meals for the last few events, they are gearing up for the winter arts fair.
  • Youth-  Shannon and Laura(from the community park) will be visiting the high school soon to talk to the youth about the potential for volunteering. We are hoping to bring back Missoula children’s theater, it costs about 4 to 6 k.
  • Events and Talent- the few events we did had a lot of promise but didnt go as well, we have been dialing back with mateel thrown events. We are looking into the more community minded and culturally diverse events.
  • Finance committee: Nate –  it costs about 180 to 200+k to keep the hall open, everybody’s hours we had to cut down, are actually net profit is around 10,000. Which is good as this is the first time since 18 or 19 since we have had a net profit,(without grants and such) we are roughly 200 to 250 k in debt still. IRS is 30k, Bridge loan 80k, Vendors are 150k
  • .ROTR24-  257k split with our partner
  • SAMF24- success done at the hall this year, about 12k profit. we want to do it at the park next year, we couldn’t do it at CLR as we lost 30k in 2023.
  • Past events:
  • Other things we did this year;
  • Pleasure wants to make it aware to the public that brevments, memorials and celebrations are low cost, the only payment required is the cleaning few for the Hall.

Old Business: 5 minutes each

  1.  wrap-up update?
  2. Financial Report-  Done above under the Finance committees.
  3. Vote to purchase a new office printer and out source poster printing passed at the last private meeting.
  4. Put forth at the last meeting was considering reducing the board to 7 or 5. We will potentially be putting it as a Choice on the ballot that would be going into effect 2025.

Shannon makes a motion to lower our board from 9 to 7 and we will send a poll out to the members on the coming ballot. John seconded 1 abstain all others in favor of motion passes.  *We would need to call a special meeting to confirm this decision

New Business: 5-10 minutes each

  1. SAMF 25’- date june 21st& 22nd  summer solstice -location community park-
  2. ROTR 25’- will be talked about in close session
  3. l.

Public Comments 3 minutes;

  1. Tep asks if there are still vendor spots available, they are, please contact Ashley wilma.
  2. The community cornerstones, power usage for sign, the community cornerstone owner would like help moving a trailer in exchange for the power usage. Pleasure makes a motion to let the cornerstone put a trailer in the park in the parking lot of the mateel.
  3. Sign committee? Sign issue Bruce brought up, to fast to read, lighting is off, and a few other concerns.
  4. Cassandra suggests a community poll put out in a public area for all of the public, not just members, where the committees have input on what they would like at the Hall.
