Meeting Called to Order at:

Announcements: 3 minutes each

• Board Announcements: all board members should go over the bylaws and vision statement and look into the changes we can make to make the Mateel Community Center as a community resource more than a music venue. Key components; Youth, and community resources, community free/low cost food/meal events
• Committee Announcements: Dining committee has received a donation of a 36” charcoal grill from Jono Brodeur. Most things are covered at the moment, but could always use more volunteers. 
• Public Announcements: Tom Lasbury Jr member of public made it known that the public board minutes were not accessible to the public and suggested that we post a pdf to the website. Elena will fix that asap. He also asked for clarification on why SAMF was being held at the hall as opposed to Benbow, as well as other questions. He suggested that we close off redwood drive and have the festival spread throughout the town to fit more vendors and bring more tourism to Redway business. Nate mentioned it would be hard with Caltrans. Shanon said it would be an encroachment permit that we need to apply for, for that. Tom mentioned we should be more transparent, such as putting our meeting on Youtube. Nick would like Anna to come down to the board w, we should do a reggae psa and an introduction of the current board members.****Take away; -Make the public minutes more accessible. -create more transparency with the public -Look into the cheaper/discounted tickets for elderly, alter-abled, and long time community members.
• Public Agenda Items to add: 
• Office and staff updates- Elena- has been doing extra work coordinating the volunteers for ROTR’24. Good amount of rentals. Been busy keeping the hall clean. -Colm may get his food handling licenses, to help in the kitchen more. -Shanon mentions that there may be highschoolers. The CCC will be at the Mateel grounds to do some outdoor labor. -double check that we are on the county list for the community service hours.

Christy makes a motion to approve minutes. John seconds. All here in favor.

New Business: 5-10 minutes each

1. Kmud Block Party parade; May 25th- Christy wants to make a float (with others)!! Christy & Julia Ralsten will run a membership and fundraising table. Shannon will drive a float in the parade. Christy Augustine will head up the banners with sticker farmer.
2. Shanon thinks we should upcharge private events to have their event on the marquee
3. Dedicated event time on the marque
4. Put in contracts to have outside parties use our ticket sales.

1. 4/20 Mateel Presents; the Annual Smoke Out community gathering and bbq and music by reggae artists Army and Soulmedic backed by the 7th Street Band.
2. 4/27 Southern Humboldt Fire Safe Council have a Fire Resources Fair 12 to 5
3. 5/9 Humboldt Workforce Coalition Job Fair 12-6
4. 5/25 California Live & Future Production Present: Andre Nickatina
5. 5/31 Southern Humboldt Visitors & Business Bureau will have another Let’s Talk Tourism
6. 6/8 & 6/9 Summer Arts and Music Festival at the Mateel this year
7. 6/22 KMUD Community Radio Station Pride Celebration- would like to have fire dancers (insured) in lower lot-Christy will ask them to involve fire dept for that and we will not have parking in lower lot, also would like to use water (sprinkler) on back 40 for 1-2 hrs- thats fine.

9. 7/4/24 Miranda 4th of July, Lonny said we can table and or have food booth there, we also want to have membership and sell ROTR tickets; maybe sell a locals only special..
