Mateel Vendor Coordinator Hiring Announcement
The Mateel Community Center is seeking applications for the position of Vendor Coordinator. Responsibilities include soliciting, handling, scheduling, and all duties/ arrangements related to food and craft vendors for MCC events/ festivals (inc. Reggae On The River), plus general office support. Applicants should be organized, service oriented, proficient with computers/ email/ databases/ social media, and able to work with a diverse mix of creative people. Pay is $14-$16 per hour (DOE) and requires 1-2 days in the office per week- with increased hours during the summer festival season. The Mateel Vendor Coordinator is a part-time position, paid hourly. Hours are as required on an annual basis in accordance with the organizational budget and attendance is required at a weekly staff meeting. Performance is to be reviewed annually.
The Mateel Vendor Coordinator is responsible for the following duties.
- Act as Mateel’s chief vendor representative
- Handle all vendor communications and correspondence
- Oversee the creation of vendor letters, applications, and packages for all Mateel events and festivals, including Summer Arts & Music Festival, Reggae On The River, Humboldt Hills Hoedown and Winter Arts Faire (and other needs as they arise); work with General Manager to approve vendor packages and pricing
- Maintain and organize Mateel’s vendor database for the exclusive use and ownership of the Mateel Community Center
- Organize vendor jury committees for Summer Arts & Music Festival, Reggae On The River, and Winter Arts Faire, plus schedule vendors for these events according to results
- Create booth layout maps and mark out spaces for all Mateel events and festivals that host vendors
- Create vendor parking maps for Summer Arts & Music Festival and Reggae On The River and work with parking crew to ensure adherence, plus proper needs/ numbers
- Schedule and oversee volunteer crews related to vendor festival needs- i.e. vendor check-in, camping, parking, site, etc
- Be available in office during crunch time leading up to major events and on site throughout the entire duration of vending events to handle all vendor related needs/ concerns
