Tribal Seeds Coming to Mateel with special guests Nattali Rize and Raging Fyah, January 28th

Nothing warms up a winter weekend  like a night of great live reggae! Tribal Seeds and their special guests Nattali Rize and Raging Fyah will be filling that bill on Saturday, January 28th at the Mateel Community Center in Redway!

Tribal SeedsTribal Seeds who hail from San Diego, is known for their spiritually driven, refreshing rock vibe that’s infused with the roots style reggae.  Their fourth album, “Representing” debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Reggae Charts (as well as the iTunes & Amazon charts) when It came out. “Representing” contains 12 original recordings and features reggae heavyweights, Don Carlos, Mykal Rose, Kyle McDonald of Slightly Stoopid, Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite, New Kingston and the band’s own, Maad T-Ray and lead guitarist Gonzo. The award-winning group’s musical talent and authentic sound has brought them to the forefront of the reggae rock genre, reaching people of all ages across the United States, and worldwide.

Nattali RizeNatalie Pa’apa’a, aka Nattali Rize, the Australian musician, record producer and political activist, is part of the urban roots collective, Blue King Brown with Carlo Santone. With Blue King Brown, they’ve opened for local and international acts as diverse as Carlos Santana, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Damian Marley, The John Butler Trio, The Cat Empire, Silverchair, and Powderfinger, establishing a strong international profile. Their latest LP was partially recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, with legendary reggae producers Sly and Robbie, who have previously worked with Bob Dylan, Grace Jones and The Rolling Stones. She collaborated with Jamaican-based group, Notis, to issue a single, “Rebel Love”, in March 2015, which was followed by a nine-track EP, “New Era Frequency”. As a social activist Rize has spoken out on environmental and human rights issues including people trafficking, the NT intervention, the rebuilding of Haiti and ethical consumerism.

Raging FyahRaging Fyah is regarded as one of Jamaica’s most promising young acts, making music that is tethered to their island’s enduring, much emulated roots rock reggae tradition, yet is distinguished by an expansive vision that propels their musical journey forward. The five piece band from Kingston, Jamaica, received critical acclaim for the intricate harmonies, nuanced musicianship and impressive songwriting skills showcased on their previous self-released albums, “Judgement Day” (2011) and “Destiny” (2014), earning comparisons to legendary reggae outfits including England’s Aswad, Steel Pulse, and Jamaica’s beloved Third World.

Doors open at 8:30, music starts at 9:00. Tickets available online at mateel.org. Tickets for this night of reggae revelry are only $20 and available online at mateel.org.
