Meagan brought up Willow Creek\u2019s teen center which has been\ngoing on for 7 years. Teens late afternoon, grade schoolers early afternoon. She wants to make a field trip there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We went over Anna\u2019s minutes of the last public meeting, in\nJanuary. Dusty was thanked for getting\nrid of The Troll!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
MOTION: to accept January\u2019s\nminutes: Dusty moved, Steve 2nd<\/sup>, U<\/p>\n\n\n\n MOTION: to accept\nFebruary\u2019s minutes: Dusty moved, D Dan 2nd<\/sup>,\nU<\/p>\n\n\n\n No public comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Life Skills Training program, LST: training to handle bullying, opioids,\netc. Dusty would like to see the whole\nboard certified to supervise kids; training is $240 each. Can a group rate be arranged? Their\ninstructor comes out. Amy will write a\nhalf-grant to cover this training, and will see about a group rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meagan will see about the field trip to Willow Creek, on\nThursday next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussion of setting up an afterschool activity program at\nthe community center on Fridays, starting on the last Friday in April which\nwould give us time to get organized and get the word out to schools and through\nKMUD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Various materials and activities were discussed; how to\nsupervise, how to attract and vet volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Babette has a canning project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tisane has a grant connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mention was made of the California Child and Adult Food\nProgram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussion of adult\/student ratio, summer program, summer\ngrant, insurance, accountability, bussing, CPR training, <\/p>\n\n\n\n Tubs of supplies will be brought to the next meeting for\nsorting and organizing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tisane volunteers to hang posters all over\u2014Arcata, Eureka,\ndown to Willits and Ukiah, even!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discussion of allowing Darryl Cherney to use the community\ncenter for his activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n MOTION: to spend $400\nupdating the office computers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dusty moves, Meagan 2nds, U.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nate will do some work on another computer In the\noffice. He volunteered also to fix the air\ncooler, we\u2019ll see he gets the specs for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then there was a discussion of the shade and tent needs for\nSummer Arts. The MOU is still being drawn up. \nSummer and Tisane are connecting to write the coordinator letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Terry is dealing with the employee packet, and Ann is\nhelping him transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Casey is the coordinators\u2019 coordinator. The LGL forms need\nupdating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There was a discussion of T-shirts— pricing, sizes, color,\nprinter choice, cost!, which group gets how many.
