<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\nBLUE LAKE, CA: The Dell\u2019Arte Company\u2019s annual holiday show tour, now in its\u00a038th <\/span>year, ushers in the festive season with an adaptation of Jules Verne\u2019s\u00a0Around the World in 80 Days. The timeless tale of friendship, adventure, and\u00a0attempting the impossible, Around the World in 80 Days will begin its run in the\u00a0Carlo Theatre on November 23 & 24 at 7:30 pm. Keeping with tradition,\u00a0admissions for most performances are free thanks to the generous support of\u00a0local schools, the California Arts Council, Pierson Building Center, Coast Central<\/p>\nCredit Union, Stephany Joy of Re\/Max Humboldt Realty, Almquist Lumber; as\u00a0well as, The James Irvine Foundation. The audience is asked to contribute nonperishable\u00a0food items, which the cast collects and donates to local food banks in\u00a0collaboration with local non-profit, Food for People.<\/p>\n
How big is the world? Or should we ask, how small? In a time before the\u00a0airplane, Phileas Fogg and his right-hand man set out to prove it’s possible to\u00a0travel around the world in 80 days. By train, sea, and whatever forms of travel\u00a0they can find, their adventures reveal the richness of new places and diverse\u00a0peoples. But the race against time is a hard one to win, and the two travelers will\u00a0need all the help they can get along the way. Will they make their journey in time,\u00a0or will they fail in their attempt?<\/p>\n
The Dell\u2019Arte Company\u2019s adaptation of Around the World in 80 Days <\/i>is directed\u00a0by Dell\u2019Arte\u2019s Producing Artistic Director Michael Fields and is a bold re-telling of\u00a0the classic holiday tale that comprises of original music and robust physical\u00a0storytelling created and performed by this year\u2019s international cast. Featured are:<\/p>\n
Alfredo Romero from Mexico, Idit Kischinovsky from Israel and Melanie\u00a0Schauwecker, Jesse March, Cleo DeOrio, Evan Grande, Kathryn Cesarz and\u00a0Jordan Rosin from the US.<\/p>\n
Dell\u2019Arte strives to make family holiday entertainment available to both rural and\u00a0urban communities that rarely see live professional theatre. Venues range from\u00a0large, lofty theatres to local elementary school cafeterias. The Dell\u2019Arte Holiday<\/p>\n
Show reaches approximately 5,000 \u2013 8,000 people each year, including many\u00a0school-age children. This production will tour throughout Northern California, with\u00a0stops in Orick, Arcata, McKinleyville, Eureka, Cave Junction OR, Klamath,\u00a0Bridgeville, Scotia, Point Arena, Redway, Hoopa, Trinidad and a special\u00a0performance at Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City.<\/p>\n
