SEPTEMBER EDITION: MATEEL COMEDY CABARET
The September edition of the Mateel Comedy Cabaret features Lyall Behrens from Los Angeles who will headline. Clay Newman from San Francisco will be a featured comedian. Humboldt’s own Dutch Savage will open up the evening, Tony Persico is the host.

ABOUT THE COMEDIANS

Lyall Behrens honed his skills in Bay Area comedy clubs. He covers human foibles, race, social commentary, relationships, gender equality and pop culture with irreverent swag. He’s also known for hilarious, spot on impressions of celebrities. His stand-up has appeared on Hulu Network and he recently starred in a commercial for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. Mr. Behrens currently tours throughout the US performing at comedy clubs, country clubs, casinos and colleges from Maine to Maui. At home he performs at top LA comedy clubs such as Laugh Factory, Improv and Comedy Store.

Clay Newman
This stony, joke slinging rabble rouser has been delighting audiences across the southwest for over four years with his tales of life, love, and all that other crap that fills our days. His comedy career began as just another way for the long time theater nerd to get his stage time fix, but he soon found that stand-up was his greatest passion and only actual skill. You’ll most likely see him performing in San Francisco where he lives, as well as the surrounding Bay Area.

Dutch Savage
The staff photographer for humor magazine Savage Henry, Dutch first tried standup at an open mic comedy night the publication hosted in 2011. On stage this Humboldt County local performs a jam packed set of twisted one-liners and has opened for many out of town comedians.

Tony Persico: He has been called, “an odd guy” and “decent” by some of the most respected comedians on the West Coast. With an intense personality and sometimes dark perspective, Tony covers everything from religion and politics to the frustrations of driving and being attacked by a public toilet.
