The 37th Annual Summer Arts and Music Festival

What: The Most Comprehensive Celebration of Art & Music on the North Coast
When: June 1st & 2nd, 2013
Where: Benbow Lake State Recreation Area, Southern Humboldt County, CA
Tickets: Usually $15 per day / $25 for the weekend

Coming up in June 2013, the 37th annual Summer Arts and Music Festival will again offer up the most comprehensive and affordable celebration of art and culture on the North Coast. A favorite celebration to welcome the arrival of summer, the event takes place on the banks of the Eel River at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area and will feature 4+ stages of entertainment with more than 120 performances by acts local to international, more than 150 handmade craft and food booths, an outrageous kid zone, all-media fine arts show, the Generation Green tent, and lots of fun for the whole family.

The 29th Annual Reggae On The River™ Festival

What: A World-Renowned Reggae Music Experience
When: Aug. 1-4, 2013 / Music Fri thru Sun, Aug. 2nd - 4th, 2013 / Early arrivals Thu., Aug. 1st, 2013
Where: French’s Camp (located in the Cook’s Valley area of Humboldt County, CA)

Tickets: On Sale Feb. 1st, 2013 / $190 for 3-day pass - includes camping / $250 for 4-day early arrival tickets - includes camping

Join us on August 1-4th, 2013 for the 29th annual Reggae On The River™ at French's Camp in Piercy, CA. Set before a backdrop of ancient redwoods on the banks of the majestic Eel River, this anualcelebration of the best in reggae and world music has been a favorite festival tradition for over a quarter century and offers attendees an opportunity to soak up the irie northern Cali vibes while enjoying a diverse array of top-class international artists, vendors, and kids activities in a family friendly environment.

This Friday, February 1st at 12:01am, online ticket sales began for the 29th annual Reggae On The River™. Making a triumphant return to the festival’s original French’s Camp venue, located just north of the Humboldt County line near Piercy, CA on August 1-4, 2013, reggae fans worldwide are overjoyed at the news of the festival’s homecoming and tickets for this highly anticipated event are expected to go fast.

The 9th Annual Humboldt Hills Hoedown

What: A Folk, Bluegrass, and Harvest Jam To Remember!
When: Fall 2013 / Usually Noon till Midnight!
Where: Mateel Community Center
Tickets: TBA

A down-home celebration of bluegrass & beyond, the 9th annual Humboldt Hills Hoedown will return to the Mateel Community Center in 2013. It customarily features a variety of world-class and local performers on two stages, along with vendors, a kid zone, petting zoo, country games, jamming opportunities, and lots of fun for the whole family.

The 23rd Annual Hempfest!

What: An annual celebration of "The Herb" featuring various artists, vendors, speakers, and performers.
Where: Mateel Community Center
When: Fall 2013 / Usually Early November
Tickets: To Be Announced / Varies depending on what Day & Event

The festival features a variety of speakers, vendors, and performers sure to extol the many virtues of the hemp plant.  Usually open from 11am until late with a suggested donation at the door.

The 37th Annual Winter Arts Faire

What: A Holiday Craft and Christmas Entertainment Celebration
When: Saturday & Sunday, Early December, 2013
Where: Mateel Community Center
Tickets: To Be Announced / Usually a minimum "Donation" / Free for MCC members

Showcasing the diverse wares of more than 60 handcraft artisans, the Winter Arts Faire is southern Humboldt's premier holiday art and craft extravaganza. A great way to welcome the winter months, the annual event takes place in Early December, 2013 and will feature live music by local performers, wintertime food and drink, children's storytelling, and a visit from Santa.  The event also serves as a drop off location for Toys For Tots and the Humboldt Food Bank. Traditionally open 10am to 6pm both days with Santa dropping in!
